I plan on using blogging in the classroom to increase parent/teacher communication.
I plan on using blogging in the same way Pam is.I'd like to increase parent communication to that families have a real sense of what the children are actually learning.
I want to use it to get the kids excited about learning. I also think it will eliminate a lot of the paper nightmare in my classroom.
I would like to use blogs to have my kids communicate with students from French-speaking countries
to post written work
to communicate with each other (comment) on their work
I'd like to stimulate online conversations about books and information sources to promote literacy.
I plan to use this to help students to edit their work in composing sentences in Latin. This should evolve into their yearly children's stories. Instead of worrying about kids losing their work (on paper) or not saving on their computers, now I hope that the editing process will be easier. Kids should be able to peer edit. As far as appropriateness is concerned, I build this into my project rubrics. Students understand that their grade is impacted negatively with the use of inappropriate material.
I would like to use blogging to extend classroom discussions and offer more challenging math problems students may not come across normally in their assigned homework.
But, there are more avenues available with blogs that I may venture into incorporating.

I hope to be able to communicate with other teachers in the World Language Department, including the teachers at MMS.
I plan on doing what Pam is doing as well. I signed up for Teacher Web, but I think this might be better.
Ditto. Increased communication would be marvelous. I also see this as a way for parents to be more involved in their students' learning, especially at the elementary level.Blogging together...how bonding . Wahoo!
I plan to use blogging in the classroom to improve my student's writing skills and therefore their communication efforts to further learning.
I would also like to be able to have students practice their Spanish with other students in the class,or students in the class of other Spanish teachers at MHS using current vocabulary and grammar.
Eventually, maybe I could have students from my classes communicate with students in Spanish classes from schools in other districts.
Once we have our school district policy, maybe I would have my students communicate with people in other Spanish-speaking classes.
